About The Position

The School Volleyball Program Coach facilitates engaging after-school volleyball sessions for students in grades K–5 at elementary schools throughout the Bay Area. The coach oversees student participation and fosters a positive learning atmosphere while teaching from provided lesson plans. Classes serve approximately 8–16 students ages 5–10 and last 1–1.5 hours. Work takes place at various schools across the Bay Area, with classes scheduled Monday through Friday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Coaches work at least two days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. A two-day training session is provided. Candidates must be local to the US or have a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Passion for working with children and effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Must be local to the US or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in teaching or playing volleyball is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and energize classes of 8–16 students ages 5–10.
• Teach volleyball using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training session.
• Transport and set up volleyball equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate positively with parents and school staff.
• Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.
• Take photos of students during sessions to showcase their progress.
