About The Position

Human Resources announces an hourly School Treasurer position located at Escuela Key Elementary. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reports, maintaining financial systems, handling school funds, processing payments, and managing payroll and related records. The treasurer will also assist with budget planning, inventory, building usage coordination, and substitute teacher assignments.

Requirements

Working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial reports with government accounting standards, financial accounting standards, and generally accepted accounting principles by thoroughly reviewing and monitoring all relevant documentation.
Maintains financial systems and records in compliance with internal audit policies.
Receives, receipts, accounts for, and deposits all school funds.
Verifies documentation for invoices and prepares them for payment.
Posts receipts and disbursements to school fund accounts.
Prepares purchase orders, verifies appropriate coding, and processes payments for school purchases.
Verify and track purchases to ensure goods and services are received accurately and as ordered.
Reconciles bank statements and prepares daily fund reports.
Prepares various fiscal, accounting, and statistical reports.
Coordinates preparation for external financial audits.
Monitor school budget accounts, assist with annual budget planning and forecasting, and provide regular financial updates to the principal.
Maintains financial records for instructional supply budgets across departments.
Purchases supplies and maintain inventory.
Processes, submits, and maintains payroll and related records.
Coordinate and assign building usage for events, meetings, and other functions in accordance with policies and availability.
Receive, track, and process payments or fees related to building usage.
Assists in the assignment and documentation of substitute teachers.
Performs general clerical work and other related duties assigned.
