About The Position

As a School Therapist , you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting students’ emotional well-being and success at Seneca’s partner school, Impact Black River Elementary in the Renton/Tukwila area. Embedded within the school community, you’ll provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, conduct mental health assessments, and offer case management for a focused caseload of 15–20 students—allowing you to build deep, impactful relationships without additional school-wide or tiered responsibilities. You’ll collaborate closely with caregivers, teachers, and school staff to ensure each student is supported holistically and celebrated for their growth. Starting in June , you’ll have the opportunity for a thoughtful transition with the current clinician, support students over the summer, and enter the new school year ready to continue making a difference from day one.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Current licensure or eligibility to register as a LMFT, LICSW, LMFTA, LSWAIC or LMHC in accordance with the Washington State Department of Health requirements
  • Must have experience with the clinical diagnostic process and the DSM-IV/V
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements
  • Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locations

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred students
  • Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs
  • Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage
  • Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach
  • Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing
  • Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agencies
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training
  • This may include intervening with the students’ behavioral program through physical management
