School Social Worker
About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is hiring School Social Workers to support students in K–12 school settings in Aurora, CO. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing counseling, social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and connecting students and families with resources they need to thrive. You’ll build meaningful relationships with students, collaborate closely with educators and related service providers, and help create a supportive school environment where students can succeed. Whether you’re a new clinician or an experienced School Social Worker, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills, make a difference in students’ lives, and be part of a collaborative school team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
- Valid Colorado CDE Special Services Provider license with School Social Worker endorsement (or eligibility by start date)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis response skills
- Passion for supporting students’ mental health and well-being
Nice To Haves
- School-based experience preferred, not required
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to support student mental health and social-emotional development
- Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning as needed
- Participate in IEP, MTSS, and student support team meetings
- Conduct assessments related to social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Support attendance, engagement, and wraparound services for students and families
- Assist in developing and implementing intervention plans
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
- Connect families to community resources and supports
