About The Position
The School Social Worker will be responsible for various duties within the educational setting, including supervising interns, participating in program development and professional workshops, contacting families and external agencies, collaborating on child abuse cases, facilitating IEP meetings, reviewing student files, attending meetings with parents and teachers, serving as a CST member, and attending required training. The role also involves miscellaneous duties as assigned and participation in performance improvement plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-6 months experience
- NJ Certified School Social Worker (MSW)
Responsibilities
- Supervises interns or other team members as directed by Supervisor of Curriculum
- Participates in staffing and program development
- Participates in planning/conducting professional workshops/teacher in-service training
- Contacts families/local school districts/DCP&P/IAIU or other agencies as needed
- Collaborates with school personnel on cases of suspected child abuse & makes reports to DCP&P
- Facilitates IEP meetings
- Reviews all files for perspective students and documents recommendations
- Attends meetings with parents/teachers
- Serves as a CST member
- Attends yearly Primary Restraint Technique (PRT) training
- Responsible for any miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Participates in PIP for improved job performance
