About The Position

The School Site Specialist is responsible for overseeing operations and programs at their assigned School Site. This includes planning, development, reporting, and implementation of BGCSNV programs in collaboration with the Programs team and their assigned school. The School Site Specialist also assists with other operational functions of the School Site and may serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the Site Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization working with youth in an education and/or art setting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to deal effectively with multi-age groups of children, small groups of children in activities and free play, and large groups of children in organized activities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints and handle multiple demands.
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with the public, families, Youth Development Professionals, and members.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the safety, well-being, and output of others.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license and good driving record.

  • Use of a personal vehicle may be required and mileage is reimbursed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage activities and assigned programs that support Youth Development Outcomes and align with organizational goals and mission.
  • Maintain compliance of all assigned grant programming.
  • Establish measurable program objectives through collaboration with the Programs team, ensuring alignment with BGCSNV’s mission and youth development strategy.
  • Promote and communicate programs, events, and field trips to members, families, and school staff.
  • Assist with member retention and recruitment through outreach and quality programming.
  • Manage program supplies and oversee IT/asset inventory, ensuring resources are properly tracked and maintained.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of site equipment and program areas.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a positive, clean, and safe environment for youth.
  • Demonstrate professional leadership with members, parents/guardians, other Youth Development Professionals, and school staff.
  • Maintain quality day-to-day functions of the School Site, ensuring program quality, adherence to established standards, and compliance with all assigned grant programming.
  • Responsible for standard administrative operations, including member enrollments, payment processing, attendance reporting, and program tracking to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Serve as liaison between BGCSNV and the assigned school site.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school administrators and staff while representing BGCSNV at school and community events.
  • Encourage members to participate in a variety of program areas, ensuring they receive respect, recognition, constructive feedback, and opportunities to develop new skills.
  • Serve as a mentor/role model for members.
  • Provide direction to members by establishing and enforcing standards, expectations, and consequences for inappropriate behavior per organizational guidelines.
  • Apply corrective action that is fair, consistent, and age appropriate.
  • Provide written documentation and support when necessary for conduct/behavior issues.
  • Communicate behavioral concerns/interventions with parents/guardians in collaboration with leadership.
  • Assist, implement, plan, or participate in BGCSNV special events as required.
  • Enforce and abide by Clubhouse rules, organization policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide attention and direction to special needs children as required.
  • Drive Club vans periodically.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and bearing reflective of the high standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.
  • Assist at other BGCSNV locations when needed.
  • Occasionally work irregular or extended hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
