About The Position

The YMCA is seeking a part-time Site Director to oversee their afterschool program at an elementary school within Leander ISD. This role involves guiding staff, impacting children's lives through engaging activities, designing program curriculum, maintaining supplies, motivating and training staff, serving as a model site for new hires, conducting site visits to other schools, participating in team meetings, communicating with parents, and managing/developing a team of 5+ counselors. The position focuses on providing a safe environment and achieving a quality afterschool program.

Requirements

At least 2 years experience in a previous YMCA leadership role or licensed Child Care preferred.
Required 6 months of Licensed childcare experience or experience in a public/private accredited school.
At least 30 clock hours of training in child/youth development received in the last two months, with documentation.
Must meet minimum requirements to become an Operational Director certified through Texas Health & Human Services within 30 days or have an approved written plan.
Must be 21 years of age with High School diploma, Associate's degree preferred.
Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and show proof of insurability.
Have experience supervising and motivating a team.
Effective budgetary and programmatic experience.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background checks.

Responsibilities

Design program curriculum and maintain supplies for afterschool and All Day Out programs.
Motivate and train staff by seeking out unique/enriching experiences like guest speakers.
Serve as a model site for new hires and conduct site visits at other schools to observe and provide feedback.
Participate in weekly team meetings.
Connect with parents about program activities and their child's day.
Maintain timely and accurate record keeping and school checklists.
Manage and develop a team of 5+ counselors in a mentor role to achieve a quality afterschool program.
