About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring an ORR School Resource Officer at Rite of Passage, Sycamore Academy. This role involves monitoring campus entrances, ensuring safe movement of staff and students, answering communications, conducting security checks and patrols, and maintaining site safety. The officer will also demonstrate knowledge of emergency evacuation plans, provide directions to emergency personnel, assist with first aid and CPR, report incidents, conduct monthly emergency drills, perform facility inspections, and assist outside agencies with annual inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Possess a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver.
• Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Monitors all campus entrances and ensures the safe and efficient movement of staff, students, visitors, vendors, and service personnel throughout the facility.
• Answers and directs incoming calls, radio/intercom communications, and entry requests.
• Conducts security checks and routine patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Maintains overall site safety and security.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency evacuation plans and procedures.
• Provides directions to emergency personnel.
• Assists with first aid and CPR when necessary.
• Reports incidents, unauthorized individuals, and runaway students to the Shift Supervisor and ORR Program Manager as required.
• Conducts and documents monthly emergency drills.
• Performs routine facility and grounds inspections.
• Assists outside agencies with annual inspections.
• Helps ensure compliance with required permits and safety standards.
