About The Position

Voices College-Bound Language Academies is a public charter school network dedicated to preparing all learners for higher education through a rigorous dual-immersion program. Our mission is to ensure every student graduates bilingual and biliterate, regardless of their home language, by offering a full-inclusion English and Spanish dual-language model. We aim to change the statistic where fewer than 20% of Hispanic young adults hold a bachelor's degree, despite its perceived importance. Our educational philosophy is rooted in a sociocultural approach, emphasizing collaboration, language development, and culturally sustaining practices. We believe in creating language-rich, developmentally responsive learning environments, utilizing play-based pedagogy in early childhood and intentional direct and interdisciplinary instruction in upper grades. Our instruction is standards-based and designed to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and critical thinking through reflective, data-informed practice. Requirements

Two years of experience as a School Psychologist
Completion of School Psychologist Internship
Master's Degree in School Psychology
Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential
Commitment to working with students from educationally underserved communities
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Suite
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively and interact effectively with different audiences
Excellent organization, time management and follow up skills, demonstrated ability to prioritize and successfully handle multiple cases concurrently
Spanish bilingual required
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Clear Criminal Background Check
Valid TB Clearance

Responsibilities

Screen and evaluate referred students within legal timelines, including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing legally defensible reports in accordance with IDEA, detailing evaluation findings and providing educational program recommendations.
Participate as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team, contributing evaluation findings in parent/guardian-friendly language, and collaborating with all team members to develop education plans.
Collaborate with school staff on Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) implementation, Student Study Team meetings, and crisis support.
Collaborate to respond to assessment requests within legal timelines, providing written responses such as an Assessment Plan and/or Prior Written Notice.
Support legal and effective Child Find systems to help school-site teams identify students with suspected disabilities requiring special education evaluation.
Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs.
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Educationally Related Mental Health Assessments (ERMHS) as required by IDEA, and provide behavior and mental health consultation to IEP team members, including support in drafting behavior intervention plans and behavior data tracking systems.
Provide ERMHS services, such as individual and/or group counseling, to students in accordance with their IEPs.
Assist all stakeholders in understanding child development and its impact on student academic and social/emotional performance.
Identify needed community resources for students and make appropriate referrals to facilitate educational and behavioral interventions recommended for student success.
Receive and review available developmental information from school and outside resources about student behavior(s) and select evidence-supported or evidence-based psychological interventions.
Accurately administer, score, and interpret psychological measures of intelligence, personality, cognitive functioning, behavior, achievement, adaptive functioning, and developmental maturity.
Translate assessment plans and results to Spanish when needed.
Deliver crisis response and intervention services to students, families, and staff when needed.
Participate in disciplinary proceedings, which may include expulsions, manifestation determination meetings, and/or causation meetings.
Demonstrate knowledge of and support Voices Charter School’s mission, vision, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Perform other duties as assigned and as required.
