About The Position

The School Psychologist supports the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs of students through comprehensive psychological services. Working collaboratively with educators, families, administrators, and community partners, the School Psychologist promotes student success by conducting evaluations, providing consultation, developing intervention strategies, and supporting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. The School Psychologist is an integral member of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Special Education, and student services teams.

Requirements

Specialist-Level Degree (Ed.S.), Master's plus Specialist Certification, or Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Initial or Professional Special Services License with a School Psychologist endorsement.
Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in a K–12 educational setting preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state special education laws, IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and Colorado Exceptional Children's Educational Act (ECEA).
Experience with standardized cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessment instruments.
Strong understanding of MTSS, RtI, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, child development, and mental health interventions.
Ability to analyze educational data and use data to guide problem-solving and intervention planning.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education and related services in accordance with IDEA, Section 504, Colorado Department of Education regulations, and school policies.
Interpret assessment data and prepare clear, comprehensive evaluation reports with educational recommendations.
Participate as an active member of Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504, MTSS, and Response to Intervention (RtI) teams.
Assist in developing measurable IEP goals and provide recommendations for accommodations, modifications, behavioral supports, and specialized instruction.
Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health concerns.
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with school teams to develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Provide short-term individual and small-group counseling and crisis intervention services as appropriate within the school setting.
Support the implementation of evidence-based interventions that promote student achievement, positive behavior, and social-emotional learning.
Analyze academic, behavioral, attendance, and mental health data to identify student needs and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop prevention and intervention strategies that support student success.
Assist in threat assessments, suicide risk assessments, crisis response, and post-crisis recovery efforts in accordance with school protocols.
Provide consultation and professional development for school staff on topics including mental health, behavior management, trauma-informed practices, executive functioning, learning differences, and social-emotional development.
Collaborate with community agencies and mental health providers to coordinate services and referrals for students and families.
Support students during transitions between grade levels, schools, and specialized educational programs.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records in compliance with FERPA, IDEA, HIPAA (where applicable), and school procedures.
Stay current with federal and state regulations, best practices, and evidence-based interventions related to school psychology.
