About The Position

St. Ambrose University is seeking a School of Social Work Administrative Assistant to provide professional-level administrative support to the School of Social Work. This position plays a critical role in supporting practicum operations, accreditation activities, admissions coordination, and overall program administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in an administrative, educational, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in office coordination and administrative support.
  • Proficiency with digital databases, office software, and technology systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting students or working in a student-focused environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Practicum Education, the Director of the BSW Program, and faculty, including: Accreditation requirement tracking, Preparation of meeting materials and minutes, Participation in school and departmental meetings, Support for orientations, course delivery needs, and community-building activities
  • Support BSW admissions and recruitment processes, including application tracking, software management, and related administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for special events in the School of Social Work, including honors society activities, the Social Justice Conference, the fall ethics event, and other program-related events.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Practicum Department, including maintaining records, supporting placement planning, assisting with orientations, and updating manuals and program materials.
  • Facilitate and manage the School of Social Work's social media presence.
