About The Position

The Ashland Public Schools is seeking to hire a registered nurse for the Ashland Public School district. This is a full-time position for the David Mindess Elementary School, reporting to the Head Nurse and School Principal. The role involves implementing students' individualized health care plans, providing medication administration and episodic care, responding to health needs, documenting encounters using the SNAP electronic health information system, and communicating with parents, faculty, and medical providers. The nurse will adhere to the Nurse Practice Act, MDPH guidelines, and school policies.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts license to practice as a registered nurse.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

• School nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements students' individualized health care plans.
• Provides medication administration.
• Provides episodic care to all students.
• Responds to students’ and staff health needs.
• Uses electronic health information system (SNAP) to document student/staff encounters.
• Communicates with parents, faculty and medical providers as needed.
• Adheres to the Nurse Practice Act, the guidelines of care established by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), and works in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Ashland Public Schools.
