About The Position
The school nurse is responsible for carrying out the district's health program, as defined by district policies and the Missouri Department of Health regulations.
Requirements
- Must hold a current/valid RN license
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred (from accredited Nursing School)
- Pediatric nursing experience is preferred
- Experience with children in a school setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs skilled nursing procedures as necessary in a safe, competent and efficient manner
- Administers medications in a safe and therapeutic manner according to physicians’ orders and consistent with school policy and state laws and regulations
- Maintains student health records as prescribed by school policy and state laws and regulations
- Maintains strict confidentiality related to student and staff issues
- Uses effective written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Collaborates with other school professionals, parents, and caregivers to meet the health, developmental and educational needs of students
- Is professional, caring, flexible, and enjoys working with children and their families
- Open to providing support to the Hudson Elementary School community
- Complies with all WGSD Board policies and procedures
- Is proactive, collaborative, and willing
- Other duties as assigned
