About The Position

Full time position providing staff training and delivering student healthcare services in alignment with physician orders and IEPs. Position Details: Caseload within Hall County Schools District Full Time - Starting August 2026 1.0 FTE, M-F About the Role Hello, School Nurses! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time School Nurse in Gainesville, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities and creating a healthy school climate.

Requirements

  • Valid State of Georgia licensure as a registered nurse
  • Nationally recognized Health Care Providers CPR AED certification
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, school staff, and community agencies to support student health and continuity of care
  • Support and maintain a comprehensive school health program
  • Conduct health screenings, immunization programs, and monitor compliance with health regulations
  • Assess and provide care for students who are ill or injured, including first aid and nursing interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) to support student needs
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and district policies
  • Participate as a healthcare professional on school support teams, including IEP, Section 504, and crisis teams
  • Provide health education, guidance, and training to students, families, and school staff
  • Communicate with parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health concerns and care plans
  • Promote student wellness, safety, and rehabilitation through proactive nursing care and intervention
