About The Position

The School Nurse will collaborate with the school's administrative staff to assist in the planning and implementation of the total school health program. This includes activities related to preventing and responding to communicable disease outbreaks, developing and implementing plans for emergency medical assistance for students, and supervising specialized clinical services for students with chronic conditions and other special health needs. The role also involves providing oversight for medication administration and associated health teaching for other school staff, providing or arranging for routine health assessments (vision, hearing, dental screening), and ensuring mandated health-related activities are completed.

Requirements

• A valid license, in good standing, to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification from an approved provider.
• Two years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital or health clinic.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the National Board for Certification of School Nurses.

Responsibilities
