About The Position

The Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a School Nurse at Raymore-Peculiar South Middle School. The role meets students’ individual health needs, incorporates health care plans, complies with applicable laws, provides appropriate care for ill, medically fragile, or injured students, provides health information and serves as a resource to teachers, staff, and administrators, and identifies health problems. Candidates should have a strong nursing background and provide high-quality customer service to students, staff, and parents.

The position is full time, with 185 work days and 9 paid holidays. Salary is determined by the salary schedule and depends on license and experience. Benefits are available after 60 days of employment.

Requirements

• Current license as either an LPN or RN.
• Strong background in nursing.
• Ability to provide high-quality customer service to students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Administer and/or facilitate screenings.
• Assess situations involving student safety, abuse (physical, sexual, or drug-related), and other health issues to identify problems, refer students for appropriate treatment, and comply with legal requirements.
• Administer first aid, medication, and specialized medical treatment.
• Develop health care plans.
• Maintain students’ confidential files and records.
• Collaborate with parents, students, health care providers, and/or other agencies to promote needed treatment, secure information, and comply with legal requirements.
• Provide health information and serve as a resource to teachers, staff, and administrators.
• Identify students’ health problems and meet their individual health needs.
