About The Position
This is a substitute School Nurse position for the 2026-27 school year at Kokomo Schools, with sites varying. The role requires 7.5 hours per day as needed, with an hourly rate commensurate with experience. The position offers group insurance programs, PERF, and paid leave days.
Requirements
- Licensed as a practical nurse OR registered nurse in accordance with the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
- Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with the state of Indiana.
- Computer knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
- Follow written orders of County Health Officer in providing daily care to ill or injured students.
- Maintain student records and administer medications.
- Perform state-mandated screenings and prepare reports as required by the State of Indiana.
- Develop school health programs for all students in the building.
- Identify health problems and recommend appropriate follow-up to parents.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Social and Student Services.
