About The Position

Tulsa Honor Academy (THA) is seeking a School Leader Fellow to join their Network Leadership Team. This role is designed for a rising leader who will receive training in the essential skills needed to effectively lead a THA school as a principal, aligning with the THA Vision. Through hands-on practice and application, the Fellow will develop mastery in instructional leadership, school culture, and operations, while also providing support to school leadership teams and the THA Network Office. The Fellow will collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer and Site Principals throughout their fellowship to acquire the competencies required to lead a high-performing THA school. The School Leader Fellow is expected to take ownership of their learning and leverage all available opportunities to enhance their leadership capabilities. The role involves participating in and leading various professional development sessions, as well as managing diverse projects that contribute to the realization of the THA Vision. These special projects may include, but are not limited to, Title IX coordination, managing THA Summer School (Principal for Summer Tutorials), organizing Summer Professional Development logistics, and other assigned tasks. The School Leader Fellow must be prepared to step into a principal role, either temporarily or as a full-time Interim Principal, if the need arises within the THA network. The Fellow will be assigned to various campuses throughout the year, potentially filling vacant roles to gain practical experience, shadowing at individual schools, or rotating among all campuses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 years of experience as a Teacher with a proven track record of academic growth and achievement required
  • 1 year of school or district leadership required (Principal, Assistant Principal, Deans, Instructional Coach, Director, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Active state certification preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Charter school experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Master skills of school leadership through direct practice, coaching, shadowing, and professional development.
  • Fill gaps to support teams as needed.
  • See projects through to successful completion, mobilizing, motivating, and equipping necessary stakeholders to drive results.
  • Identify and successfully address gaps in academic performance across the network.
  • Identify and successfully address gaps in school culture across the network in alignment with the THA vision.
  • Identify and successfully address gaps in school operations across the network.
  • Add to schools’ capacity to grow in teacher and leader effectiveness.
