Requirements

  • Knowledge of CMC product, services, and history.
  • Knowledge of rope and knot configurations.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business and government forms.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instruction manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to quickly understand and distill complex concepts into easily understood language.
  • Skilled at adapting to different learning styles.
  • Detailed and organized.
  • Ability to work in an ad hoc environment and be willing to “roll-up your sleeves”.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Associate of Arts degree (A.S.) from a two-year college and state certification as a fire instructor; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Complete Instructor Task Book within two years
  • Valid Driver’s License with an insurable DMV record required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced First Aid/EMT and CPR Certificates preferred
  • U.S. Passport desired

Responsibilities

  • Use discretion and independent judgment to assure safety at all times.
  • Confer with clients to determine technical abilities and utilize appropriate curriculum or training manuals as necessary.
  • Conduct technical training programs in accordance with established company curriculum.
  • Answer customer's questions about specific course information.
  • Maintain a professional image while dealing with customers and clients. Be prompt and prepared for all meetings and classes.
  • Maintain neat attire, and wear the appropriate safety equipment during all classes.
  • Document customer questions and product input and provide information to Product Manager.
  • Participate in creation and review of course curriculum and manuals.
  • Assist with ensuring class equipment/cache is received and is accounted for.
  • Coordinate travel and logistics.
  • Act as the liaison between customer and CMC.
  • Locate and confirm field location sites for training programs as needed.
  • Provides oversite of continuity of training delivered.
  • Provides logistical support and coordinates class evaluations.
  • Train new Instructors.
