About The Position

Under the direction of the Principal and the Director of Equity and School Improvement, the School Improvement Team Member will collaborate with the building administrative team, teachers, and Central Office personnel to ensure compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements for designated schools. This role actively participates in fostering distributive leadership within the school, empowering colleagues to engage in shared decision-making. The team member will lead and facilitate professional development sessions aligned with the school’s improvement plan and district curriculum, and develop, coordinate, and implement school-based professional development opportunities that support student growth and instructional improvement. Additionally, the role involves analyzing school performance data to identify trends, measure student growth, and develop actionable strategies for improvement, as well as assisting in the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan. The position requires approaching challenges with a positive attitude and a commitment to finding practical, actionable solutions, fostering a culture of innovation and openness to change. The team member will serve as a liaison between teachers, administrators, and Central Office personnel, acting as a resource for staff regarding instructional practices and ISBE requirements, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Attendance at all scheduled School Improvement Team and district school improvement meetings is required, with active contribution to discussions, planning, and execution of initiatives. The role ensures all school improvement initiatives and practices align with ISBE requirements and deadlines, and maintains up-to-date knowledge of school improvement expectations.

  • Current Urbana School District #116 Employee.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License or Paraprofessional License.

  • Attend all scheduled School Improvement Team and district school improvement meetings led by building or district administration.
  • Actively contribute to discussions, planning, and the execution of initiatives aimed at achieving school improvement goals.
  • Ensure all school improvement initiatives and practices align with ISBE requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of school improvement expectations.
