About The Position
School Health Aide supports students’ health and well-being during the school day under the direction of a school nurse or other qualified healthcare professional.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification required
- Current First Aid Certification required
- Valid Arizona IVPP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
- Principles of health and wellness conditions
- Utilizing a computer and related software applications and office equipment
- Monitoring and assisting children with empathy and patience
- Proactive critical thinking; problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly working environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with frequent interruptions
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
- A high level of personal integrity and professionalism
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Previous experiences in healthcare is advantageous

Responsibilities
- Provide basic first aid and care for minor injuries and illnesses.
- Assist students who have health conditions, disabilities, or special medical needs.
- Administer medications according to school policies and authorized instructions.
- Monitor students for changes in health or behavior and report concerns to the school nurse or appropriate staff.
- Assist in maintaining accurate health and medical records while protecting student confidentiality.
- Assist with health screenings, immunization records, and other school health activities.
- Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, teachers, school nurses, and administrators.
- Follow emergency procedures and assist during medical emergencies.
- Support a safe and healthy school environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
