About The Position

King's College School, Panama is a British international school in Clayton, Panama City, Panama for students aged 2 to 18 years old. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Doctor to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students and support the overall health and well-being of the school community. The School Doctor will work closely with school leadership, parents, and external healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Medical licence in good standing.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and/or Advanced Life Support.
  • Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and public health practices.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills in pediatric or family medicine.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to assess and manage urgent medical situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong record-keeping, documentation, and case management abilities.
  • Compassionate, approachable, and able to build trust with students and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatrics, family medicine or school-based healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical assessments and provide healthcare services to students as needed.
  • Monitor and manage student health records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate treatment or referrals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to student health and safety.
  • Advise school leadership on health-related matters, including communicable diseases and public health concerns.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
  • Conduct health screenings and preventive care programs.
  • Support students with chronic medical conditions.
  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives for students and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local healthcare regulations, safeguarding standards, and school health policies.
