About The Position

The Food Service Worker is based at an elementary, middle, or high school site and performs a variety of food service duties. The role includes serving food and helping finish food preparation in accordance with recipe standards and USDA National School Lunch requirements. The Food Service Worker provides superior customer service to students, teachers, and parents while representing Genuine Foods. Opportunities are available to learn culinary skills and advance a career.

Requirements

Previous food service or customer service experience or training in a mid- to high-volume food service facility or restaurant.
Willingness to learn USDA National School Lunch Program compliance requirements.
Flexible and team-oriented.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headedness.
Punctuality and ability to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods’ mission of using food to help students enhance their minds, bodies, and happiness.
Ability to work in a school environment with children in grades K–12.

Responsibilities

Ensure food served meets Genuine Foods’ quality standards and follow food safety standards.
Serve food to students and staff with a positive, upbeat attitude.
Coordinate with team members to ensure food is ready and served on time.
Keep all areas clean and sanitized.
Stock and organize kitchen and serving areas to support efficient service.
Promptly alert the Site Lead or Manager on duty to any issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
