About The Position

Experienced and reliable Food Service Worker supporting school cafeteria operations. The role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff, maintaining sanitation standards, and contributing to a positive dining environment. The position is Monday through Friday on the day shift, with no weekends or holidays and summers off.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a school cafeteria or institutional food service setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Skills in food preparation and serving, time management, attention to detail, team collaboration, cleanliness and organization, and child-friendly customer service.

• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe® Certification, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with nutrition guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, slicers, and dishwashers.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, serving lines, storage areas, and dining spaces.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
• Stock and rotate food supplies and minimize waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students of all ages.
• Accommodate special needs and allergy restrictions as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and securing equipment.
