About The Position

ABM is hiring reliable and experienced School Custodians to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas of K-12 schools, colleges, or university campuses. This role may suit someone entering or returning to the workforce with limited experience or education. No prior experience or diploma is required, and on-the-job training is provided. Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply. The position includes cleaning and maintaining classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and other assigned areas. Custodians use cleaning products and power equipment according to safety procedures, maintain communication with coworkers and clients, and comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience.
One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damaging floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager of the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless-steel surfaces.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish fixtures as needed.
Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
