About The Position

Forest Lake Area School District is hiring General Custodians and Substitute Custodians to help provide students, staff, and community members with a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The district has three full-time openings as well as substitute positions. Custodians perform cleaning and facility upkeep, support school activities, maintain equipment, and help secure buildings at the end of their shifts. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Special Boiler License preferred, or ability to obtain one within one year of hire for full-time positions.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment and supplies as required.
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and collect trash and recycling.
• Clean and restock restrooms.
• Maintain classrooms by wiping surfaces, cleaning sinks and glass, vacuuming carpets, and scrubbing hard floors.
• Maintain custodial equipment and storage areas in safe working condition.
• Complete minor repairs and assist with general facility upkeep.
• Set up and move equipment to support school activities.
• Secure the building at the end of the shift, including setting alarms.
• Work independently and as part of a team while maintaining positive interactions with staff, students, and the public.
• Demonstrate reliability, strong attendance, and a consistent work ethic.
