About The Position

Campus Services Group (CSG) is seeking a dedicated School Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment at its facilities. The role works closely with staff and students to help the school meet high cleanliness standards. The custodian performs janitorial and cleaning tasks, follows safety and infection-control procedures, and responds to customer requests. The position is located at 1500 Ludington St, Escanaba, MI 49829, and starts at USD $14.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
• Ability to complete all responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift and carry, and push and pull, up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customer requirements.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas while meeting quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Use protective gear during all cleaning functions.
• Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
• Respond promptly to paging system alerts and customer requests.
• Follow infection-control practices and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
