About The Position

Campus Services Group (CSG) is seeking a School Custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities at its Downtown Brooklyn campus. The custodian works with staff and students to help ensure the school meets high cleanliness standards. The role involves completing routine cleaning assignments, following safety and infection-control practices, and responding to facility requests. The listed starting pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
• Ability to complete all responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift and carry, and push and pull, a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies when required by state, local, or customer requirements.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas in accordance with quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Use protective gear during cleaning functions.
• Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and other areas.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
• Respond promptly to paging system alerts and customer requests.
• Follow infection-control practices and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
