School Custodial Cleaner
About The Position
ABM is seeking a reliable, experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K–12 school or college or university campus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with pay of $14.00 per hour. No experience or education is required, and on-the-job training is provided. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- No experience required; on-the-job training is provided.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior customer service experience.
- One year of prior similar work experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
- Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Polish hard surfaces, such as woodwork and stainless-steel surfaces.
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or with hand trucks.
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
- Maintain restroom cleanliness, including cleaning and polishing as needed.
- Comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
