About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodial Cleaner to perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas at a K–12 school, college, or university campus. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On-the-job training is provided, and no prior experience or high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required. The role may suit someone entering or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education. Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless steel surfaces.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and clean and polish restrooms as needed.
• Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
