School Custodial Cleaner
About The Position
ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas of a K–12 school, college, or university campus. The role may involve cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and other assigned areas. No prior experience or formal education is required; on-the-job training is provided. The position pays $16.50 per hour, though a specific offer may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market alignment. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
- Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Polish hard surfaces, such as woodwork and stainless steel.
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or using hand trucks.
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
- Maintain restroom cleanliness, including cleaning and polishing as needed.
- Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
