About The Position

Provo City is looking for part-time crossing guards to assist the community with ensuring safe travel for students to and from school. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply. This is an open file posting, and applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. Applications will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days.

Requirements

• Must be able to respond to work site twice per day and work in adverse weather conditions and heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
• Requires visual and hearing abilities sufficient to safely perform the duties.
• Must have good rapport with children.
• Individuals applying for this position must be at least 18 years of age and have their own transportation.
• Must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
• If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist children to and from school at designated crosswalks at their assigned post.
• Assist the crossing guard supervisor as needed and perform other related duties as required.
