About The Position

Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is seeking a passionate School Counselor for Falling Branch Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. This 10-month, 200-day position involves supporting students in understanding themselves and their world, assisting them with personal challenges, decision-making, and future educational and occupational interests. The counselor will also act as a resource for parents, guardians, teachers, and other adults involved with the students.

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Department of Education license with appropriate endorsement as a school counselor, PreK-12 or equivalent.
Hold a master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in school counseling.
Demonstrate an ability to support students by cooperatively working with school administrators, parents/guardians, and teachers.
Utilize Google Drive and possess expertise in using technology in education.
Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities.
