About The Position

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a School Counselor/ Social Worker for the 2026-2027 School Year and beyond at our High School! As our school is growing, we will be adding SEL Support. We are looking for someone who specifically has strong College and Career Readiness experience. Empowerment Academy is a dynamic and successful charter school that truly supports its teachers and staff. Empowerment has 3 of its own campuses, and BelovED is our “sister school.” We serve a mix of students that are among the most diverse in America while enjoying the cultural vibrance of Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. Our staff is a dedicated group of individuals passionate about closing the achievement gap and providing a quality educational program.

Requirements

• Certified by the NJ DOE as a School Counselor or Social Worker
• At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role (beyond internship)
• Career and College Readiness Experience

Responsibilities

• Provide SEL Support
• Provide College and Career Readiness experience
• Support students struggling with non-academic problems
