Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist counselors with administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling students.
  • Serve as a registrar and maintain student records for the high school.
  • Assist parents and students with enrollment and withdrawal processes.
  • Input data for new students, including immunization records.
  • Perform general office duties including answering phones, greeting the public, typing, filing, and managing mail.
  • Handle record requests from other schools.
  • Provide administrative support to counselors, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and drafting correspondence.
  • Maintain and secure confidential records and inquiries, ensuring they are current and organized.
  • Monitor scholarship applications and assist students with deadlines.
  • Maintain a log of scholarships awarded to seniors.
  • Assist students with preparations for SAT and ACT exams.
  • Coordinate college visits and recruiters to the high school.
  • Secure substitutes for teachers using automated systems.
  • Assist with evening activities organized by the counseling department.
  • Maintain and update the counseling bulletin board with resources.
  • Print and maintain a log of transcripts for former students.
  • Prepare files for scanning.
  • Generate work for absent teachers.
  • Back up the Power School/Infinite Campus Data Manager.
  • Manage keys, maintaining a log of issued and returned keys.
  • Distribute medication to students.
  • Collect homework for absent or suspended students.
