About The Position

The School Compliance Analyst works under a specific school’s direction to complete required documentation for both state-based approval agencies and programmatic accreditors. The analyst works with academic and school personnel to ensure reports required by external regulators (e.g., self-studies, annual reports, ad hoc reports) are accurately completed. Develops and updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with external laws and regulations. Investigates complaints or allegations of non-compliance, suggesting steps to address and prevent future violations. Prepares annual and ad hoc reports to maintain programmatic authorization including completing documentation to obtain approval by states’ programmatic approving agencies (e.g., boards, departments, commissions). Evaluates planned or implemented changes in the standards and requirements of local, state, regional, and/or national approval agencies. Works with internal stakeholders to obtain, compile, and maintain data required to complete external reports. Produces high-quality work on short deadlines. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a writing-intensive field (e.g., communication, English, history) from an accredited college/university or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of related experience in higher education compliance, accreditation, or quality assurance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of authorization, accreditation, and professional licensure in higher education.
  • Technological competence with MS Office Suite, Salesforce and Smartsheet.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills (social-emotional intelligence) of confidence, focus, ethics, and accountability as demonstrated by checks with multiple layers of references.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex analyses and discussions into written documentation.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitivity to and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in a writing-intensive field (e.g., communication, English, history) from an accredited college/university
  • Knowledge of programmatic approval procedures in four or more jurisdictions
  • Prior training as a quality examiner (Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award preferred)
  • Bi-lingual (writing and speaking)
