About The Position

The Sacred Heart Academy Business Manager is a professional administrator reporting directly to the Academy Principal. The Business Manager assists the Principal with the stewardship of the financial resources of the Academy, in accordance with Diocesan policies and guidelines. The Academy Business Manager must understand and support the mission and purpose of the Catholic school and must value the organization and responsible management of resources. This position entails significant exposure to confidential information and discussions, requiring an individual who can maintain confidentiality at all times, under all circumstances.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles of accounting and bookkeeping
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents used in the normal course of Parish business
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficient in database management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the Principal, school employees and volunteers, and others within the community
  • At least five year's proven successful experience in finance/business management

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with a business or finance concentration

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the maintenance and management of the school's operational and financial records.
  • Assists the Principal in long- and short-term strategic financial planning.
  • Administers the Academy budget process in collaboration with the School Principal and Pastor.
  • Prepares the Academy's annual budget for the Principal's review, and monitors compliance through weekly and monthly financial statements, previous year comparisons, projections, and other interim reports as directed.
  • Prepares annual DFE report.
  • Manages cash flow and oversees all funds coming in and out of the school.
  • Manages tuition and FACTS, posting incidental expenses and Extended Day Care charges to FACTS.
  • Manages Paypal links for fundraising and development.
  • Attends meetings relative to Business Manager responsibilities as necessary, including Diocesan Business Managers' meetings, etc.
