Requirements

Valid DPU School Bus Operator’s license.
Valid CDL License required with passenger endorsement, air brakes if applicable.
At least two years experience with bus company.
Must be 21 years or older.
Must pass pre-employment physical examination (new employees).
Willingness to receive CPR training.

Responsibilities

Inspects assigned vehicle before and after use.
Provides transportation for special needs students to and from schools.
Observes all safety and traffic regulations regarding proper operation of school buses.
Follows prescribed routing with regard to uniform pickup and discharge of students.
Assists in the orderly boarding and discharge of students assigned to the vehicle.
Assists students on the vehicle during emergency situations or during bus evacuation drills.
Provides the Transportation Supervisor with information regarding the condition of the vehicle or student problems to ensure the safety of all riders.
Reports all accidents to the Transportation Supervisor.
Maintains the cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
Submits to random alcohol and drug testing as required by law.
Assumes other such responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Transportation Supervisor.
