Requirements
- Safety focused
- Hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license
- 21 years of age or over
- A safe driver with a clean driving record
- Can obtain a clean criminal record search
- Sound knowledge of the Sudbury District and surrounding areas
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work split shifts that reflect transportation requirements for school age children
- Solid communication skills
- Great customer service and communication skills in order to interact with passengers, parents, school employees, co-workers and the general public in a courteous and professional manner
- Meet the required MTO medical standards required to obtain or maintain a B licence
Nice To Haves
- Preference will be given to B class drivers
Responsibilities
- Safely transporting students to and from school
- Ensure students’ safety while boarding and exiting buses
- Performing pre/post- trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety
- Help fuel and maintain the cleanliness of the bus
Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay ($25.00 when driving a big yellow bus, $24.00 when driving a mini yellow bus, $21.80 when driving a mini van or performing other duties)
- Free training (all in-class and on road training required in order to Pass a Ministry of Transportation Driver Examination or obtain a certificate of competence from a recognized authority by passing a vision screening, knowledge test and a driving test in a bus of appropriate size is provided)
