At Aiken County Public Schools, our bus drivers play a crucial role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our students every day. As the first and last person our students see during their school day, you’ll help ensure their journey is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Requirements

A valid SC driver’s license (commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements preferred, but we offer FREE training!).
A clean driving record and commitment to safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive attitude and the ability to connect with students.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
Follow scheduled routes while maintaining timely arrivals and departures.
Ensure the safety of all students while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in excellent working condition.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff when needed.
