Bus Driver (Seasonal Full-time)
About The Position
Pacific Northwest Transportation Services (PNWTS) is seeking a positive and energetic individual to join their driving team as a Bus Driver for the seasonal cruise season (April – October). PNWTS is the exclusive supplier of buses for the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), providing motor coaches and double-decker buses for shore excursion tours and shuttle connections for cruise lines. They are the sole provider of dispatch services on the Terminal and are proud suppliers of carbon-neutral transportation services for the cruise industry in Victoria, British Columbia.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with air endorsement
- Clean drivers abstract
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns
- Knowledge of company policies and processes
- Knowledge of local visitor and tourism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure while ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and priority
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to make decisions while demonstrating sound judgement and critical thinking skills
- Ability to be adaptable to changing environments and regulations
Responsibilities
- Driving safely and efficiently while showcasing the city of Victoria and surrounding areas
- Providing driver commentary to cruise ship guests
- Providing exceptional service to our guests
- Performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections
- Promoting partner attractions
- Demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing traffic patterns, street closures or detours
- Participating in any drivers’ trainings or meetings as required by the company
- Learning new practices and operational procedures
- Adapting to changing company policies and safety practices
