About The Position

First Student is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers in Springfield, Missouri. Drivers transport students safely, picking them up before school and bringing them home after school. No prior bus-driving experience is required; paid CDL training and industry-leading technology are provided. The schedule is a split shift, with a guaranteed four hours per school day and several free hours between the morning and afternoon runs. Additional hours may be available through trips and charters. Nights and weekends are not required unless the driver wants to work them.

This safety-sensitive position is subject to DOT drug testing. The role requires English proficiency for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications, in accordance with applicable requirements, including DOT regulations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have held a valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Have English proficiency for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications.
• Undergo DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.

Responsibilities

• Pick up students before school and transport them safely to school.

Benefits

• Starting wage of $18.00 per hour, based on school bus driver experience.
• Commercial Learners Permit bonus of $750 if the CLP is presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class, or $250 if presented within 14 days.
