Create and support a culture of community engagement and meaningful volunteer service in your school. Requirements

• Current/Active Somerville Public Schools employee
• Commitment to volunteer engagement in support of student learning and wellness
• Must be familiar with Google suite

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Principal, educators, counselors and school staff to identify volunteer opportunities in your school, including remote opportunities.
• Coordinate placement of in-person volunteers for weekly tutoring, enrichment or other supports, including remote tutoring and after school programs.
• Maintain ongoing communications with the regular, weekly volunteers matched at your school.
• Using shared spreadsheet, document volunteer data, including remote volunteer tutors.
• Collaborate with Principal and District Volunteer Coordinator to identify, document and support existing community partner volunteer programs serving in your school.
• Collaborate with Principal and District Volunteer Coordinator to develop systems for surveying educators for volunteer needs, impact on student learning and sharing best practices for engaging volunteers in your school.
• Collaborate with school-based Liaison, PTA and District Volunteer Coordinator to promote volunteers and community service at your school through school newsletter, appreciation, volunteer spotlights and other school-based events.
