About The Position

The School Based Support Specialist provides support and activities through an organized treatment plan designed to ease an individual’s immediate and continued adjustment to community living by using advanced knowledge of psychological concepts and coordinating delivery of mental health services with other services provided by practitioners and community agencies. This role involves providing on-site intervention in area schools for clients enrolled in the program and collaborating closely with school staff to ensure appropriate client care.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Recreational Therapist, Human Development and Family Studies, Gerontology, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Sociology.
Valid Driver's License

Reliable Vehicle

Responsibilities

Provide on-site intervention in area schools for clients enrolled in the program
Collaborate closely with school staff to ensure appropriate client care
Participate in the process of monitoring client progress in treatment programs
Development of specific individual treatment/rehabilitation plans
Provide individual assistance to clients as a resource in accessing needed mental health services and completing activities of daily living skills
Assist the client to access and utilize a variety of community agencies and resources to provide ongoing social, vocational, educational, and recreational support and activities.
