About The Position

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. This is a great opportunity for an SLP looking to try working in the school system or wanted to get back into full-time work without the commitment. This role involves maternity leave coverage for multiple positions.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable)
• Educator Certificate (if applicable)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
• Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
