About The Position

Performing pediatric health screenings, basic first aid, and a variety of duties within the school system while maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

• Previous pediatric, school nurse, and public health experience highly preferred
• Medical office experience required
• Familiar with medical record documentation and ability to generate and maintain precise and accurate records
• Reliable transportation if needed for floating to other schools or offices
• Must have ability to function in an organized manner within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to respond appropriately and efficiently to emergent situations
• High School diploma or GED required
• Current/ active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Kentucky licensure
• Criminal background check
• Reference checks

• Drug Testing

Responsibilities

• Conducting health screenings
• Administration of medications via various methods; performance of procedures Per Physician/Provider orders
• Providing basic first aid; must maintain CPR certification
• Ability to follow written Physician/Provider orders
• Assuring medical equipment is properly maintained and remains in functional Working condition
• Communication between GGC Administration, School System Faculty/Administration, students and parents
• Compliance with policies and procedures; health and safety regulations at all times
• Accurate medical record documentation
• Participates in mandatory training sessions
• Various other duties as necessary or assigned
