Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience in any setting interacting with children and adolescents.
  • LPC In-training, Marriage & Family Therapist In-Training, Professional Counselor Training Certificate, or APSW licensure is required within 45 days of start date.
  • Must complete Children’s credentialing application prior to start date.
  • Will complete 3,000 hours and obtain full licensure, including exam requirements, as an LCSW or LPC within 2 years of starting the Therapist in Training position. Extension of up to 1 year can be approved through management.
  • At the end of the residency, all documentation of necessary application required for future licensure as a State of Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will be completed and submitted.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group and family therapy to children and their families in an outpatient setting under the supervision of a licensed therapist, supervisor, or manager while working towards completing the required 3,000 hours of supervised experience in the field.
  • Carries a caseload of clients, bills, documents and participates in all aspects of the clinic and clinical operations under close supervision and training.
  • Ability to provide quality individual, group and family therapy under clinical supervision.
  • Ability to receive and adjust to feedback.
