School-Based Mental Health Professional (Licensed Therapist or Clinical Trainee) - Grand Rapids, Minnesota
About The Position
Join our team as a School-Based Mental Health Professional and make a lasting impact on the lives of children, adolescents, and families. We are seeking either a Fully Licensed Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, LP) or a Clinical Trainee working toward independent licensure to provide mental health services within our School-Based Day Treatment Program at Grand Rapids Middle School. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where clinical care is integrated into the school day, helping students build emotional regulation, coping skills, social skills, and academic success.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current Minnesota licensure as LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in good standing (for Licensed Mental Health Professional).
- Meets Minnesota requirements to practice as a Clinical Trainee under approved supervision (for Clinical Trainee).
- Commitment to obtaining independent licensure (for Clinical Trainee).
Nice To Haves

- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, and family systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students participating in the day treatment program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Complete comprehensive assessments, functional assessments, and other required clinical evaluations.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school administration, case managers, and community providers.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and team meetings.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and payer requirements.
- Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
- Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, and ongoing professional development.
- Support families by providing education, resources, and coordination of care.
