About The Position

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system seeking interns for the school year. This unpaid internship involves providing assessment, case coordination, individual, group, and family counseling under supervision. Interns will participate in orientation, shadow school-based staff, commit to weekly hours, manage a caseload, lead groups, complete trainings, maintain documentation standards, and attend required supervision. The role requires providing therapy, performing initial assessments, maintaining treatment plans, and completing clinical documentation.

Requirements

Student in good standing currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work.
Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, case coordination, individual, group, and family counseling to service recipients under the supervision of a School Based Team Leader, Clinical Supervisor and/or Therapist.
Participate in new hire orientation and begin internship weekly.
Shadow school based staff to know expectations of a school based therapist.
Commit to spending a certain amount of hours each week with Centerstone.
Have a caseload with Centerstone at a time throughout the school year.
Attend and lead (plan, look up resources and activities, write group notes) at least 1 group consistently throughout the school year.
Complete all necessary Centerstone trainings.
Consistently keep up with 24 hour documentation standards.
Attend required supervision through Centerstone each week as well as participation in required supervision through Master’s program.
Provide individual, family and group therapy as part of internship required by Master's program in counseling, marriage/family therapy, social work, or related field of study.
Perform initial assessments, maintain treatment plans and complete all clinical documentation.
