Requirements

  • Masters’s degree in psychology, social work, or education/counseling from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong clinical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build rapport with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, computer, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic understanding of mental health disorders, psychotropic medications, crisis assessment, confidentiality requirements, and community-based systems of care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical intake services, including thorough bio-psycho-social assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
  • Evaluate mental health status, gather social history, formulate diagnostic impressions, and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • Provide individual and group therapy services in school-based and agency settings as appropriate.
  • Consult and collaborate with school staff, clinical staff, medication providers, families, and community providers to coordinate care and support treatment planning.
  • Assess and respond to students or clients experiencing crisis, including suicidal ideation, and collaborate with appropriate crisis response resources when needed.
  • Provide case management support by assessing needs and connecting individuals and families with community services and supports.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record while upholding confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, evidence-based practice consultation, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide training, consultation, or support to school staff and/or parents as needed to promote mental health awareness and effective support strategies.
